We purchased a colonnade home back in 2002 in Murphy, TX. We have numerous problems with it. Fogging windows, warped doors, leaking roof, buckling carpet, deteriorating door thresholds, leaking front windows....I could go on and on. I cannot get anyone to warranty any of the issues at hand. The home is only 8 years old. Shouldn't this stuff be warranteed for atleast 10 years? I am so frustrated and have a home that I will probably never be able to get my money back on if I ever try to sell it. I'll have to take a huge hit or walk away from it. Ugh! :x Permalink

Sorry to hear about your issues, Some windows have a ten year warranty, try looking on the website of the manufacturer and contacting them, the fogging probably indicates broken seals which may be covered. Home insurance may cover damage from water leaks. I'd try the old Texas hail damage insurance claim for the roof with your home insurance company. Seven year old carpet is probably ready to be replaced anyway. Unfortunately, Colonade was a perennial low performer on quality which along with bad land deals led to their demise. Permalink

Important: This company is on our list of builder operations that have "imploded" (see also ailing lenders). This is a somewhat subjective call, and does not necessarily mean total shutdown or bankruptcy. It can also mean steep and rapid declines in enterprise value; or abnormal "bail-out" by corporate parents or peers in order to continue to operate. The builders may be residential or commercial.
